Campus and Community Find Common Ground for Eid al-Adha Celebration

Despite its proximity to campus (the Islamic Center of Davis is directly across the street on Russell Blvd), Muslim students at UC Davis didn't feel entirely integrated with the Muslim community who attended the mosque in Davis. MSA wanted to remedy this campus-community disconnect, while also trying to be more inclusive of Muslims from across cultures, like the multitude of Southeast Asian and African students at UC Davis who practice Islam.

Brazilian high schoolers come to UCD to learn farming solutions

This summer, the UC Davis D-Lab offered a week-long, intensive design class to a group of Brazilian high school students as part of the International Development Innovation Network. Through this course, students learned the fundamentals of design by working with real clients to provide solutions with social and environmental impact.

Consul General Luo Linquan Visited UC Davis

During the visit, Consul General Luo had meetings with Chancellor Gary S. NEWS BRIEFS: New Food Truck and TBT CoHo Prices

The truck sprang from an idea from Global Affairs and one of its units, the Confucius Institute. They worked with Student Housing and Dining Services and campus food truck operator Live and Love Halal to make the truck a reality, and a portion of the proceeds will support Global Affairs. The menu was developed with the help of Hong Kong-based food company Lee Kum Kee, a sponsor whose sauces are being used in the Chinese Flavors dishes.
