Coalition of Nutrition Leaders Calls for Global Scale-Up of a Cost-Effective Intervention Developed at UC Davis that Prevents Child Malnutrition and Mortality

Several UC Davis Institute of Global Nutrition (IGN) experts joined in a coalition to recommend scaling-up provision of a novel fortified food-based supplement to prevent child malnutrition and mortality among vulnerable children 6–23 months of age. Four Faculty and Staff Honored for Global Engagement at UC Davis and Around the World

Four faculty and staff members from UC Davis are being recognized for their outstanding global engagement work with two key awards: the Chancellor’s Awards for International Engagement and the Excellence in Teaching of Study Abroad Awards. These awards recognize the outstanding work of UC Davis faculty and staff in international education, research and service. 

Inaugural $50,000 Quad Fellowships Awarded To 25 American Students

In early December 2022, the first cohort of Quad Fellows was announced. The Quad Fellowship is a joint initiative of the governments of Australia, India, Japan and the United States and is supported by a group of industry-leading corporate partners. This program is designed to spur interdisciplinary scientific and technological innovation while building ties among and empowering the next generation of STEM leaders.

UC Davis student Sophia Simon, who is pursuing a Ph.D. in ecology, is one of the 25 exceptional American graduate students to receive the award.
