Margret Kizza Nakawooya has more than six years of experience in the infrastructure and transportation sector. Currently, Margret is a highway engineer at SMEC International, where she focuses on highway geometric designs, traffic engineering, project management, road safety and road construction supervision. She also volunteers with Kayunga Community Club, a community-based charity organization, where she coordinates outreach programs and mentors schoolgirls. Margret holds a bachelor's degree in civil engineering and is currently enrolled in a road safety engineering training course with the International Road Assessment Programme. She is committed to sustainable transport planning, urban mobility, air quality and road safety for all road users. After completing the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders, Margret plans to practice transformational leadership for Uganda's transportation sector by conducting policy reviews that will accommodate climate change's impact on infrastructure projects and construct safer infrastructure for all road users.
