Lecture: The Arab world between revolution and counterrevolution

By Davis Enterprise staff

"The community is invited to a lecture by Hicham Alaoui, known as a “dissident” member of the ruling family in the Kingdom of Morocco, on Wednesday, April 17 from 4 to 5:30 p.m. in the UC Davis International Center Multipurpose Room. The lecture, sponsored by UCD’s Global Affairs and other programs is free and open to the public.

Often referred to in the media as “the Red Prince” for his pro-democracy stance, Alaoui is an outspoken advocate for constitutional monarchy in Morocco. He is a graduate of Princeton University, earned his doctorate in Middle Eastern studies at Oxford University, and is currently a research associate at the Weatherhead Center for International Affairs at Harvard University."
