Namkee Park is a professor in the Department of Communication at Yonsei University, Seoul, South Korea. He studied at Michigan State University for his Master's and earned his doctoral degree from the Annenberg School for Communication, University of Southern California. After finishing his doctoral study, he worked as an assistant professor at the Gaylord College of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Oklahoma, where he got tenured and promoted before he moved to his alma mater, Yonsei University. At Yonsei, he was awarded as an Underwood Distinguished Professor, the highest honored award for academic research.

His research interests include social psychological implications of communication technologies, computer-mediated communication (CMC), and human-computer interaction (HCI). As a Fulbright Scholar in the Department of Communication at UC Davis, he is conducting a research study about the role of social media in the process of international students' acculturation.
