UC Davis professors with a longstanding connection to Nepal, along with their Nepalese colleagues, lead a learning exchange program that offers students a profound immersion in the country’s vibrant culture, environment and history. Worldwide Leaders Convene to Protect and Advance Global Biodiversity

UC Davis hosted the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation University Leaders’ Forum Monday (Nov. 13), bringing together nearly 100 international environmental leaders to discuss sustaining and strengthening biodiversity amid climate change. The forum, “Investing in Tomorrow’s Biodiversity,” highlighted UC Davis’ efforts to make a positive impact on the environment.

Four Faculty and Staff Honored for Global Engagement at UC Davis and Around the World

Four faculty and staff members from UC Davis are being recognized for their outstanding global engagement work with two key awards: the Chancellor’s Awards for International Engagement and the Excellence in Teaching of Study Abroad Awards. These awards recognize the outstanding work of UC Davis faculty and staff in international education, research and service. 

APRU, UC Davis and Universiti Malaya Launch Third Cohort of Asia Pacific Women in Leadership Mentoring Program

The University of California, Davis, the Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) and Universiti Malaya launched the third cohort of the Asia Pacific Women in Leadership (APWiL) Mentoring Program. The third cohort has 94 participants, consisting of 47 mentoring pairs that represent 24 APRU member institutions (out of 61 total member institutions). Of these 24 institutions, seven have participated in all three cohorts, 12 have participated in two cohorts and five are newcomers this year.

UC Davis Hosts Delegation from Singapore

The University of California, Davis welcomed Gan Kim Yong, Singapore’s Minister of Trade and Industry, on September 7, 2022, for a day-long exploration of key agriculture and aquaculture topics. UC Davis leadership, faculty, and government officials, and industry representatives with ties to UC Davis and Singapore discussed vertical farming, cultivated proteins and aquaculture as they relate to advancing food security.

APRU ends pandemic hiatus with first physical meeting at NTU Singapore and highlights urgency to collaborate through international university networks

The Association of Pacific Rim Universities (APRU) wrapped up the 26th annual Presidents’ Meeting held at ​​Nanyang Technological University (NTU) in Singapore on July 9, 2022. UC Davis Chancellor Gary May, accompanied by Global Affairs Vice Provost and Dean Joanna Regulska, represented UC Davis as a member university. As a network of leading universities linking the Americas, Asia, and Australasia, APRU brings together thought leaders, researchers and policy-makers to exchange ideas and collaborate on practical solutions to the challenges of the 21st century.
