Dr Maubane-Nkadimeng is a Senior Instrument Scientist and Researcher in the Microscopy and Microanalysis Unit of the University of the Witwatersrand (Wits), Johannesburg. She graduated MSc cum laude in 2010 and obtained her PhD in 2013 from Wits University under the supervision of Prof. Neil Coville. Her research interests are in the broad area of nanotechnology, with specific emphasis on carbon nanotechnology for renewable energy applications.  As a Fulbright Scholar, Dr Maubane-Nkadimeng joined Prof Moule’s group in the School of Chemical Engineering and Material Sciences where she is looking at improving the efficiency of organic photovoltaics by turning the properties of the conductive polymers and incorporating nanocarbons into the active layer of a cell.

Dr Maubane-Nkadimeng also hold a Postgraduate Diploma in Higher Education qualification. In 2019, she was appointed as the Advisory Board Member of the Faculty of Education at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. She is an Honorary Staff Member in the Wits School of Chemistry, a member of the DST-NRF Centre of Excellence in Strong Materials and hold several other professional memberships.
