Dr. Zhao holds a PhD in Climate System and Global Change. In his current position at the Wind and Solar Energy Resources Centre of China Meteorological Administration, he focuses on wind and solar energy utilization and climate change mitigation. He has created solar maps that are used throughout his country and is also an expert of the National Wind Power Technology Network. Dr. Zhao focuses predominately on how to deal with the smog in China, and how much the solar energy utilization will benefit the environment. He has undertaken several projects on renewable energy policy and climate change mitigation and adaption.
