Ms. Ngilambi received her Bachelors degree in Agronomy Sciences with a concentration in Natural Resources Management at the University of Kinshasa, D.R. Congo. She has been working at the Satellite Observatory of Central Africa Forest under the Central African Regional Program for the Environment, which is funded by USAID. She worked with a team on capacity building in Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and remote sensing (RS) among conservationists, dealing specifically with monitoring the Congo Basin Forest. Ms. Ngilambi has also been involved in assessing and setting up a regional satellite images database in the Congo Basin area. During her Humphrey Fellowship year, she plans to enhance her understanding of modelization and utilization of GIS and RS methods in planning conservation according to the participatory approach. Her goal is to become more instrumental in setting (REDD) regulations for the Central African region, particularly in the Democratic Republic of Congo.
