Julius Magala has over nine years of experience in developing markets for renewable energy in East Africa. Currently, Julius works with Energy 4 Impact as the Country Manager for Uganda. He supports businesses to deliver energy access to off-grid communities through innovative business models and offers strategic technical advice. The organization works to finance and expand local markets. Julius holds a Post Graduate Diploma in Renewable Energy Development from Heriot-Watt University where he focused on the economics of renewable energy, renewable energy generation, integration and environmental policy and risk. Julius is driven to reduce the burden of energy poverty and contribute to universal access to affordable and clean energy, especially in under-served markets. Upon completion of the Mandela Washington fellowship, Julius plans to continue supporting businesses to deliver energy access.
