Call for Proposals: Seed Grants for Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration for Sustainability

UC Davis is partnering with UC|Chile (Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile) on a series of Seed Grants for Interdisciplinary Research Collaboration for Sustainability (SGS) (up to $20,000 each) to promote research and educational collaboration between the two institutions. Applications require at least one PI from each institution. We welcome proposals related to the following broad themes: Climate Crises and Resilience, Emerging Health Threats, Just and Inclusive Societies, and Sustainable Food Systems. 
Deadline: July 31, 2023

Connect with UC Davis Humphrey Fellows and Mandela Washington Fellows

Each year, Global Affairs hosts 12 Humphrey Fellows for ten months beginning in August and 25 Mandela Washington Fellows for six weeks during the summer beginning in June. UC Alianza MX Announces Short-Term Research in Mexico for Graduate Students

UC Alianza MX is pleased to announce a call for applications for Short-Term Research in Mexico by University of California (UC) graduate students. The purpose of the short-term stays will be for UC graduate students to accomplish specific laboratory, library or field research at partner institutions in Mexico. UC Alianza MX will provide funding to cover living expenses, travel and other related expenses in Mexico for up to three months.

Aggie Black Excellence Presents: A BookTalk with Rachel Jean-Baptiste

June 21, 2023, 2:30-3:30 p.m., in person at the Manetti Shrem Museum 
How have people and societies debated what it means to claim mixed race/multiracial identity? How have these debates shaped global history, Africa, and the African diaspora? This book answers these questions by narrating the history of children born to African women and European men in French-speaking West Africa in the twentieth-century period of French colonial rule.

University Global Coalition Annual Gathering 

October 2-6, 2023, virtual
For this year’s Gathering, University Global Coalition (UGC) will host a global, virtual version of 17 Rooms, a process developed by The Brookings Institution and The Rockefeller Foundation. Participants select one of 17 groups representing each of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals. Rooms will work to determine a deliverable from their discussion that can be presented during SDG Action and Awareness Week 2023. Inspiration sessions will open and close the week. Participation is open to students, faculty, and staff in any higher education institution and selected community partner organizations.
